Steps to membership in the NSDAR and the Centennial State Chapter, NSDAR:

  • Attend a Centennial State Chapter meeting or event to meet our Daughters and explore what we do. We hold monthly morning meetings, September through May. Special events are occasionally held on other days.
  • Gather your family history information to identify an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence between April 19, 1775 (Battle of Lexington), and November 26, 1783 (withdrawal of British Troops from New York).
  • Work on and complete an application.

If you are comfortable, feel free to continue on to the Genealogy page and work on the provided Pedigree Chart. Our chapter has many women who would be happy to help you with research and documentation, application paperwork, and introductions to our chapter members, activities, and meetings.

Genealogy Resources

DAR members are women who come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolution; any woman who can prove this lineage is eligible to join, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background. 

Genealogical Research System (GRS)

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution provides a free system to help with your genealogical research. The GRS is a collection of databases that provide access to the many materials amassed by DAR since its founding in 1890. DAR members across the country are passionate ambassadors for genealogical preservation and research, and the National Society is committed to being a premier provider of genealogical resources. The online databases are the product of 10 years of work by members who volunteered to scan and index vast genealogical resources consisting of Bible records, marriage records, wills, deeds, obituaries, and a variety of other records.
